Mr.J.A. Mason, ex-Headmaster of The Doon School graced the occassion as the Chief Guest. The cultural programme was a combination of the school prayer, Songs, dances, Orchestra and Junior and Senior English plays. The stage scintillated, shimmered and shone in a razzle dazzle of colour and excitement. The highlights of the 21st September were the two English plays 'The Paper Maker' and 'Day of Atonement'. The splendid presentations were put up by the students of the Junior and the Senior school under the able guidance and direction of Mrs. Mridula Prakash and Dr. Sujash Bhattacharya respectively. The patriotic dance was a combination of mind blowing music and dramatic footwork, acts that varied from amazing invocations by participants to supple and intrigate dance steps. It was amazing to see the amount of practice and energy our dance (Dandiya and Dance based on Rabindra Sangeet) troupes put in to give an enthusiastic performance on the stage. Their agile bodies and spontaneous movements were in harmony with the beat of the music. The Music school presented melodious orchestra. The Chief Guest Mr. J.A. Mason offered some valuable advice for the coming generation while skillfully punctuating his speech with thought provoking anecdotes and inspiring interludes. Mr. R. K. Sinha, the chairman of IPS and Shri Babulal Marandi were present among dignitaries.

Every individual is endowed with one quality or the other and is   a representative of God on the earth.

One must strike a balance between learning languages and one’s mother tongue, culture and identity. All the power of universe lies in human body. One must realize and make optimum utilisation of the source and ‘resource’ one has within. Shri Vijaya Bahuguna (member of parliament), Shri Kirti Azad (cricket player and member of governing body of IPS) Shri Babulal Marandi (first Chief Minister of Jharkhand) were the guests of honour. The last but the most enchanting show was the staging of Hindi Play ‘Shuturmurg’. Written by renowned writer Gyandev Agnihotri, Shuturmurg is a satirical play on a king who ignores the well- being of his subjects, and instead, indulges in a whimsical and lavish life. Dependent upon his ministers for all his work, the king orders a Shuturmurg made of gold so that he can maintain his wealth and power. But at last,  he loses everything through the hands of his Prime Minister. The play gives the moral that we should not depend on others for everything. The cast that hypnotized the audience with their stellar perfomance included Rohit (Raja), Tuli (Rani), Rajat (Maha Mantri), Vikky (Virodhi Lal), Komal (Dasi), Bhuvan, Shiva (Ministers), Rishikesh (Raj Purohit), Raghvendra (Helper, Raj Purohit), Ishan (Mamuli Ram), Saras, Shubham, Radheyshyam, Sagar (Attendents), Navneet (Deadman) and Amardeep (Prompter).  The play was highly appreciated not only for the stagecraft but also for brilliant performance.
